Fort Morgan State Historic Site Events 2018 

Self Guided Tours are Available During Regular Hours8am-5pm

 

October 17 and 20     6-7 pm "Who Haunts the Fort" :

A guided tour by a historical interpreter Dylan Tucker of the known deaths and burials at Mobile point from 1813-1910 (from the research of Mike Bailey). Known Deaths and Burials at Mobile Point Event Fee $12 per person. Limited to 100 people, Museum and Gift shop are closed for this event. The tour is not  Please call Dylan Tucker to have your name placed on the list 251-540-7202 or 251-540-5257.  Payment for this event will be excepted any time on the day of the event at the ticket booth. Visitors will be exposed to  uneven surfaces, weather, water, stairs, wild life and unlighted areas of the fort during this tour, so please plan accordingly. Bring your own flashlights. Recommended for ages 12 and over.

 November 2-3, 2018 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Tarawa and Makin Island Living History Days 

Fort Morgan will be hosting a living history event to include WWII weapons demonstrations and living history programs.  This event is sponsored by the Sgt. Foster L. Harrington Detachment #1449 of the Marine Corps League.  https://www.facebook.com/events/1582307988525972/  General admission prices will be charged.

November 12, 2018     2:00pm Lecture inside the Fort about Fort Morgan's Military Role in WWI.

November 18, 2018     A "Holidays at the Fort" tour will be given at 1pm, with a small arms demonstration. Special holiday decorations and gifts will be on sale at the gift shop. Refreshments will be served in the gift shop from 2pm-4pm.

January and February 2019  2:00pm - 3:00pm Wednesday Civil War Presentation Series.  A historian will provide historical information on Fort Morgan's role in the Civil.  The presentation will be giving at the presentation casemate of the fort. General Admission Charged.

March, April, May  2019     Spring Break guided tours 10:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

August 3, 2019       Commemoration of the Battle of Mobile Bay Commemorating the events that happened at Mobile Bay August 5-23, 1864, the fort will come to life with drills and demonstrations of artillery by historical interpreters.
